We know motivation is difficult when the heat cranks up. But who says working out needs to feel like torture or a chore? Summer is all about enjoying ourselves in the beautiful weather, right?!
The good news is there are endless summer activities that won't restrict your usual boring gym routine, aerobic exercise class, or whatever else is keeping your fitness indoors.
From swimming to beach volleyball, to paddle boarding, and hiking, the right activities can turn what is typically classified as "fun in the sun" or a "dose of Vitamin D," into a full-body workout.
We've compiled a list of outdoor activities on our radar this summer that will have you working up a sweat. And best of all? They don't feel like working out.

Cool things off this summer by incorporating a swim into your workout! Swimming is rated the number one best exercise for the body. You get your resistance training, cardio, and breath work all in one. Plus, it's easy on the joints and a great way to lose weight! Though we always encourage a hot, sweaty workout, the feeling after a hard lap swim is often impossible to beat. Head to your local recreation center to get a lap swim in!

A fun way to get exercise this summer is by playing volleyball at the beach with friends! Traditionally, volleyball works the legs, arms, and core but don't expect a six-pack from merely playing beach volleyball a few times a week. But if you're playing on a hot summer day, you can expect a great sweat session, especially if you toss on the Hot Shapers Hot Belt during your game.
Water sports are a fantastic way to get some sun while trying something new. Take stand-up paddleboard yoga, for example – a trend within the yoga that's not going anywhere anytime soon. And yes, it's just what it sounds like -- doing yoga on a paddle board. It's a lot harder than it looks and will leave you feeling tired and worn out (in a good way) while getting you out on the water!
The next time you have an open day on the weekend and don't want to spend it in a gym, get some friends together (or your dog) and go for a hike. Fresh air, great views, and of course a calorie burning, sweat session. We like to wear our Hot Shapers Capri Pants or Hot Arm Sleeves for an extra push. 😉
